In Cambodia, extreme heat, drought, floods, and other climate risks are affecting schools, teachers, and learning. A key part of the solution lies in understanding how these risks play out and are addressed through reliable, timely data. Thanks to the MoEYS Cambodia and UNICEF, Cambodia integrated a climate-change module into its Annual School Census. This strengthens data collection on hazard-induced school damage, disruption, health impacts, and even emotional well-being. As part of the 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, funded by the Global Partnership for Education, we led technical workshops to refine the questions and guidelines, ensuring they’re clear, context-relevant, and practical for schools to report on.
